On April 5, 2024, Cole’s father, Joe Brings Plenty, shared a tragic and heartfelt message.
I am deeply saddened to confirm that my son, Cole, has been found and is no longer with us.
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone for the prayers and positive thoughts you sent for Cole. We would also like to thank everyone who came to walk beside us as we searched for my son and provided the resources we needed to expand our search areas. I learned this week how many people knew the goodness in Cole’s heart and loved him.
During this incredibly difficult time, we ask for privacy as we process our grief and figure out how we move forward.
Please know we appreciate you and appreciate your understanding,
Joe Brings Plenty, Sr. & Family

We grieve. His Dad came to my house to present a trophy won by Wolves Den Boxing to my hadkcapped son. He has instilled this thought to all his children. We grieve!
I am stunned and saddened by this senseless tragedy. This young man presents as a fine example of an American icon. I have roots in South Dakota and have long contributed to various Native American schools and programs. My heart is grieved for this family and all those who knew and loved Cole Brings Plenty. May the God of all the earth bless and keep his everlasting soul, ushering him into the kingdom of light. Amen.
I have been bereaved and feel magnanimous
sadness about Cole, and his sister Mercy.
This needs answers.
Much love to all Native Americans.
